Housing and Environment Group
The Housing and Environment Group deals with strategic issues relevant to housing and environmental problems in the district. The membership of this group reflects a very wide participation of stakeholders from the public, private, voluntary sectors, the police, health authorities and the community.
Community Strategy aims and objectives

* Consult, develop and keep under review the headline issues in the district relating to the environment, our town centres and tourism.
* Build upon existing documentation to develop a coherent strategy addressing the key headline issues relating to the environment, town centres and tourism.
* Encourage partnership approaches to the development and implementation of projects and help address headline issues.
* Improve air quality, waste reduction & recycling
* More & better public green spaces & parks
* Reduce the amount of dog fouling
* Conserving & enhancing the built & natural environment
* Provide good quality housing accommodation, which is fundamental to the stability of the communities in our towns and villages
