The Community Services Department works closely with the police, local communities, voluntary and statutory agencies to reduce the incidence of crime, nuisance and anti-social behaviour and to aid the development of positive ideas which will enhance the quality of life of local people and their community. The Department also supports the Bolsover Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and through this has published Community Safety Strategy for the district. The ‘Community Action Network’ or ‘CAN’ is an innovative scheme that has been established by the Council and its partners in an effort to assist communities and residents in the district tackle a variety of problems that affect their quality of life.
