What is a Crime Reduction Strategy?
The Crime Reduction Strategy is the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships planned multi-agency response to deal with crime, the fear of crime, disorder and substance misuse (alcohol and drugs) in the District. It is based upon the findings of the Crime Audit (see above) and community concerns raised during the local consultation. The Strategy
is a statutory duty defined in the Crime and Disorder Act, 1998 and as amended in the Police Reform Act, 2002.
What is the Crime Audit?
The Crime Audit is a detailed review of crime, the fear of crime, disorder and substance misuse (alcohol and drugs) in the District. It is undertaken every 3 years, and after local consultation, it is the factual base for the Crime Reduction Strategy. It is a statutory duty defined in the Crime and Disorder Act, 1998 and as amended in the Police Reform Act, 2002.
What is the Annual Review?
The Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership is committed to a continual review of its performance in tackling crime and the fear of crime, disorder and substance misuse (alcohol and drugs). Every year, the CDRP compares its success in meeting the targets set out in the current Crime Reduction Strategy.
