Brian Murray-Carr is Chair of the Bolsover Community Safety Partnership. He is passionate about reducing crime in The District of Bolsover and making the area a safer place to live. Cllr Murray-Carr is also Cabinet Member at Bolsover District Council, with responsibility for Community Safety.
The aim is to develop an approach to community safety which focuses on achieving improvements in the quality of life for the communities in the Councils area, in terms of community safety issues thorough the Councils own work and its contribution to the Bolsover Community Safety Partnership. To promote and encourage the existing good working relationships with the community, the Police, County Council, parish councils, PCT, other public sector bodies, voluntary and community organisations and businesses and communities generally.
Background
Brian was first elected as a district councillor in 1989 and his background in health and safety within the Coal Industry has given him a sound understanding and knowledge in industrial relations, health and safety and economic issues.
Throughout his time as a councillor Brian has played an active role in modernising the Council and its services and helping to reduce crime and disorder in the area.
Interests
Brian has a keen interest in motor cycle racing, jazz, cycling and athletics.
