Aims and Objectives
The Forum provides a strategic overview of all cultural activity within Bolsover district and gives advice on how to develop cultural opportunities that will best benefit the whole community.
Working with regional and national cultural agencies, the Forum ensures that cultural services within the Bolsover district are adequately supported and resourced.
The Forum works collaboratively in the district to:
- increase enjoyment and involvement in cultural life
- ensure the creative, tourist and cultural industries contribute to economic regeneration and growth
- ensure innovation, growth and change is kept in balance with the conservation and protection of our cultural heritage assets
- raise awareness of local cultural opportunities
- celebrate and maintain local identity, traditions and cultural diversity.
The Forum wants to inspire local people to realise their creative potential and to become involved in local cultural activity. By pooling cultural resources and skills, sharing knowledge, ideas and best practice and avoiding duplication and waste, the Forum aims to deliver better value for money.
The Forum meets every 6 weeks and the minutes from the meetings can be seen through the Meetings
page on this website.
