The Partnership provides the opportunity for local people to influence what happens in their community and neighbourhood, and therefore take forward the Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy at neighbourhood level. There are opportunities to access the key agencies who deliver services in your area Police, Primary Care Trust, Parish, District and County Councils, together with other organisations delivering services to you.
In March 2005 the Community and Voluntary sector and the Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership developed a Compact
between them, setting out the general framework of principles which help to underpin and guide the relationship. The Compact is reviewed each year, and all of the work in partnership is guided by the Local Compact Group (a group of representatives from both voluntary and statutory organisations).
The relationship between these sectors is a fundamental part of our approach to community planning and consultation.
Getting a good level of involvement from people in the local community is a priority for the Partnership. It is important that the Partnership reflects local views and opinions so that it can play a key part in driving up the quality of local public services, encouraging value for money services and ensuring that local priorities are delivered.
Members of the community are represented through reserved places on the LSP.
Surveys, questionnaires and events involve and engage local people. Responding to one of our consultations is an important way in which you can influence the Partnership's work and have your say.
If you are a member of the local community, and you want to find out how you can support the work of the Partnership or get involved, try contacting the local Community Empowerment Network.
Community Voluntary Partners
(the Community Empowerment Network)
has entered into a formal agreement with the Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership to achieve the effective participation of the community and voluntary sector. This participation is based on a representative Community Association for every village within the district. The Community Associations
carry out consultation exercises in order that the community and voluntary sector representatives on the Partnership Board are able to take forward the opinions of local residents.
