28 Sep 2009 - Healthy Neighbourhoods Team Appointed
Four Health Improvement Workers have been recruited and will be based in the most deprived areas of the district. The Health Improvement Workers will be supported by a (Trainee) Health Trainer who will link in with Library and Adult Education services, essentially creating Health Zones where local people can find health information. The team will be directed by The Health & Well Being Partnership Long Term Plan for Health Improvement (Bolsover LSP), and will:
- work with local communities to ensure their views are appropriately represented
- encourage and support local people to develop services and activities identified as beneficial to their health & well being
- work with partners (particularly GPs) to ensure they are fully informed of local activities and initiatives
- encourage and promote sustainable community development capacity building, funding, engagement and participation
- carry out community consultations, events and surveys which they will collate and make available to local people
- research, prepare and submit funding applications to support the development of organisations and activities.
