15 Oct 2009 - John Jaquest Wins Silver in Local Food Hero Awards
John Jaquest of 'Jaquest Food Specialists' in Bolsover won the Silver award in the Local Food Hero category of the Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards 2009.
More than 25 contenders were short-listed in five categories which, along with local food hero included restuarants, international restaurants, pubs/bistros, and tea rooms/coffee houses.
The county council run awards are now in their eighth year and are held to celebrate locally produced quality food and drink and to reward the county’s finest producers and businesses.
The awards ceremony took place at Thornbridge Hall, Ashford-in-the-Water on 15 October where the winners - and Young Master Chef - were presented their awards by celebrity chef Brian Turner.
