A presentation is being held in Chesterfield to give community groups information on how they can apply for lottery funding following the launch of a new programme of grants. The presentation is on Tuesday January 17 at 10am to 12.30pm. Places are free but must be booked with Links CVS on 01246 274844. The event is taking place at the Winding Wheel, Holywell Street, Chesterfield.
Staff from the Big Lottery, the major distributor of lottery funds, will be there to announce current and forth coming opportunities where local organisations can apply for funds to help improve the quality of life in their communities
Millions of pounds are distributed by the Big Lottery every year to a variety of organisations including community, arts and sports groups, voluntary organisations, schools and parish councils.
Recent grants of up to £500,000 have been awarded for individual projects.
Representatives from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust will be giving information on their grants programme and advice will be available from CHART, the Local Strategic Partnership and Links - the Council for Voluntary Service.
