VISION FOR THE FUTURE SET FOR LAUNCH
A blueprint for improving the quality of life in the district, Bolsover Districts next Community Strategy, will be launched in April this year.
The strategy has been drawn up by a partnership of local organisations, including the District and County Councils, education and employment organisations, the emergency services and health services and the Community Empowerment Network for Bolsover District.
The Community Strategy describes how these improvements will be achieved and is based on key strategic aims relating to community safety, housing, employment, education and health.
During 2005, the Partnership has held meetings around the district for community and voluntary groups, town and parish councillors, older people, young people, and the business community. From these meetings, our consultants have identified areas of priority and the Strategy sets out targets for the partners, which are aimed at improving the quality of life in the district.
The involvement of external consultants has ensured appropriate timescales and consultation events are taking place and guarantees that this grand plan for the District has wide, meaningful consultation with our local communities.
Wide consultation on this document has been essential to ensure a productive, inclusive and deliverable plan. We have worked with the public, private, community and voluntary sectors involved in the Bolsover LSP to ensure this happens.
This new Community Strategy document will be launched in April this year and will include wider targets including the Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy targets and key National Public Sector Agreement Floor targets.
The new Strategy is the overarching vision for the District and will enable partners to join forces to tackle common priorities, by doing this Bolsover LSP will be well placed to continue to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being where you live.
The Launch of the Community Strategy in April will be a milestone, which marks the completion of the document; it will also provide partners with an opportunity to sign up to implementing actions. After the Launch the Partnership will monitor and report on its progress annually.
Chair of the Partnership, Mandy Chambers, said:
We are all committed to the principle that we can do far more together than we could do by working separately, and we intend to continue to meet our set targets. This document sets out our blueprint for the future and working together with our communities towards our goals will continue to be our priority.
