Partnership event celebrates project achievements
The Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership and Derbyshire Learning Partnership held an event to highlight all the good partnership work that is currently happening in Bolsover District.
The education event was very well attended by various agencies and focussed on presentations delivered by project leaders including Sure Start and Derbyshire County Council. All project leaders present offered an insight into what their projects are achieving within the District not only in regard to education, but also cross-cutting issues including health and community safety.
Councillor Alan Charles, Cabinet Member for Education at Derbyshire County Council and the Chair of the Derbyshire Learning Partnership, visited the event at Doe Lea, Bolsover and was impressed with what he heard.
Successful partnership working is strong in the District and throughout Derbyshire and this event was a celebration of the positive influence being achieved though this joined up, partnership work. Cllr Charles recognised this by saying;
Partnership working in Derbyshire was excellent
and he was,
pleased to see so many agencies at the event
The success stories presented included the Neighbourhood Renewal Funded (NRF) Living Literacy Programme, a project that delivers an enriched literacy curriculum via experiential learning, which relates directly to Bolsover LSP targets and progress towards these add benefit to the District in the short and long-term.
