Carers Sitting Service
The project aims to create a service across the three villages of Creswell, Whaley Thorns and Shirebrook/Langwith, which will make them more connected on a common need. It will provide local employment opportunities by offering local people jobs and specific training as 'carers'.
The Carers Sitting Service is intended to improve the quality of life of users, increase their social inclusion, help reduce mental health difficulty of carers and their dependents. It also enhances the work of 'Crossroads' which provides a similar service but to customers with high levels of need.

Boosting To Success
This initiative aims to significantly increase attainment in English, Mathematics and Science at the end of Key Stage 3 and a range of GCSE and equivalent courses at the end of Key Stage 4 through supporting out of hours extra school classes and running targeted booster sessions. All the activities for Key Stage 3 and 4 were organised by the three secondary schools - Bolsover, Clowne and Shirebrook.

Older Persons Medication
This initiative aims to ensure all patients aged 75 years and over in the District of Bolsover have a practical issues and concordance review as part of a medication review in line with the NSF standard and Primary Care Trust protocol.

Bright futures
A comprehensive attempt to deal with the sites of dereliction throughout the three communities of Shirebrook, Creswell and Bolsover. The project is a response to a community agenda as evidenced by local community plans. The sites are currently subject to fly tipping and also provide areas where young people congregate. Clearing the land and creating alternatives will reduce anti-social behaviour and fear of crime.

Kids Clobbering Crime in Clowne & Creswell
This initiative aims to address the following issues:
* Improve literacy levels and develop lifelong skills, knowledge and understanding.
* Raise awareness of crime, the antecedents, the social issues associated with criminal behaviour, introduce the law and crime and the role of the courts in deterring and punishing criminal activity.
* Reduce the possibility of criminal activity during the period of the initiative.
* Engage local agencies.
* Develop cross phase links between partner schools.
Participants will be taught new skills, knowledge and be able to derive further understanding that will contribute to sustainable progress in their own ability to communicate in writing, speaking and listening and reading. The principal activities will focus on a 'Crime Free Community'.

Into Gear
The Into Gear initiative is a two year pilot programme which enables adults with learning difficulties to develop their capacity to become economically active citizens in the community and create community enterprises thereby improving the employment rate in Bolsover District.
The programme is divided into 4 "gears" of progression and is designed to enhance confidence, self esteem, skills, knowledge and experience and address barriers to employment.

Local People Local Skills
An innovative community based education and training/skill sharing project which addresses the need for local creative activities leaders and support workers to undertake activity sessions within school and community settings. Participants will obtain skills and qualifications to enable them to lead and support the development of new and existing learning initiatives that are locally based.

Council for Voluntary Services Bolsover and District
The project provides training in identified neighbourhoods to develop the skills of the local voluntary and community groups through a certificated short programme and OCN accredited course programme. An increase in attending training events will enable more people to take responsibility for their own learning and development and help to build confidence.

Environment Improvement Scheme
The project aims to clean up the physical environment of key residential and business areas within the former coalfield and textile manufacturing area, using inter alia Letters of Request and Notices served under Section 215 Town and Country Planning Act 1990, where the condition of land, buildings and structures adversely affect the amenity of an area.

Bolsover Energised Youth Programme
The project aims to engage, enthuse and empower young people aged 11 - 25 years old and will tackle a number of youth issues such as youth disaffection, violence and anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and addiction, healthy lifestyles through exercise, general well-being and quality of life and pupil inclusion.
It is hoped to provide an indoor skate park which will be developed in partnership with the Sports Action Group and will also run CRE8 programmes, in partnership with Junction Arts, to complement the skate activity.
The project will develop targeted young people programmes at Pleasley Vale Outdoor Pursuits Centre by working with key agencies such as Creswell Pupil Referral Unit, Derbyshire Youth Service, North Derbyshire DAAT, Derbyshire Careers Services, Sport 2000 etc.

Warm and Secure Homes
The project aims to tackle some of the causes of social deprivation faced by residents of social housing in some of the most deprived wards within the District of Bolsover, by installing insulations and security devices at selected properties.

Change for Life
Change for Life is designed for women who are particularly vulnerable to health problems caused by obesity, overweight and lack of exercise. It offers a twenty week programme, sessions of 2 hours per week, which combines physical activity with advice on healthy eating, stress management and other lifestyle issues. The sessions are delivered in community settings to improve access to leisure facilities. The programme has proved very successful and many groups become self funding to continue beyond the initial 20 weeks.

Classroom Assistants Training
The outcomes from the training will include improved attainment in the schools involved as participants will offer a significant degree of classroom supply and increase the potential for employment.
