Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) grants are paid to 86 of the most deprived local authorities areas. The fund enables the Local Strategic Partnerships within these areas to improve services in the most deprived parts of their district. This work includes contributing to the achievement of national floor targets to narrow the gap between deprived areas and the rest of the country, as well as local targets contained in their own neighbourhood renewal strategies.
Local Strategic Partnerships in the 86 NRF areas have all drawn up local neighbourhood renewal strategies which:
- Identify priority neighbourhoods within their districts
- Understand their problems and the effects they have on residents
- Track what happens to existing resources going into these neighbourhoods
- Agree on what more needs to be done
- Implement, monitor and evaluate agreed actions
