STRUCTURE AND MEMBERSHIP
LSP STRUCTURE
The structure of the Local Strategic Partnership includes the full partnership,
a Board, and an Executive Support Group which consist of nominated representatives of Action Groups - Community Safety, Health and Well-being, Housing, Employment and Transport and Education and Training. The five key thematic Action Groups consist of partners who have an interest in a particular theme and have Lead Partners who Chair their Groups. They support themselves administratively via whichever organisation has chosen to lead an individual group.

- Executive Support Group (ESG) -The engine house. The ESG provides support for the Board, oversees the work of the Action Groups and debates issues surrounding the Partnership.
- Action Groups - Project delivery and monitoring.
LSP Board
Role

The strategic direction of the Partnership. The Board brings together senior representatives of key organisations within the district. The LSP Board helps to shape the Community Strategy and jointly agrees the key priorities to make it happen. The Board provides leadership and ensures effective partnership working across organisations and networks within Bolsover District.

Executive Support Group (ESG)
Role:
- Overseeing the strategic preparation, delivery, monitoring and review of the Community Strategies and feedback on progress to the wider communities.
- Making joint recommendations to partner organisations.
- Identifying and encouraging existing partners or partnerships, or rationalising existing working arrangements, to deliver specific priorities of the Community Strategies.
- Reporting back to Forum meetings to discuss progress on recommendations made.
Membership:
- To include the main public service providers in the area and other core partners in a position to influence service delivery and improve the quality of life.
- To reflect the BLSPs responsibility to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being.
- Local authority representation.
Meeting cycle:
Every 6 weeks
Action Groups
Role:
Implement Action Plans to meet the vision and the aims of the Community Strategies
Prepare progress reports.
Establish working sub-groups for specific tasks.
Influence the content and direction of the Community Strategies.
Raise and debate new issues and provide feedback to and from the community on how well the Community Strategies are working on the ground.
Membership:
- Relevant organisations, interest groups and partnerships to achieve the objectives of the task.
- Each Action Group should have a lead partner to co-ordinate and drive forward its work and to report progress to the Assembly and the LSP Board.
- The groups may work across the two districts, or depending on the theme, cover one district only.
Meeting cycle:
Usually monthly, but can be organised around getting the Action Plan implemented.
Inclusiveness
To enable openness and inclusiveness in partnership working, the Action Groups, Board and ESG encourage representation from the voluntary and community sectors. The CEN incorporated the voluntary sector represented in the Bolsover District Community and Voluntary Partners.
